Report: Values Alignment & DEI Prove Table Stakes to Employees

Findings from ForceBrands’ new report on job market confidence trends reveal shifting norms that are defining the future of today’s modern workforce.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

It’s no secret that today’s employees want to work for companies that align with their own core values. And employers that demonstrate cultures of inclusivity are more likely to attract and retain top talent.

In ForceBrands’ Consumer Talent Compensation and Job Market Confidence Trend Report, released in August 2023, we uncovered compensation and job market confidence trends and their impact on employee attraction, retention, and workplace attitudes.

We surveyed more than 1,000 workers across various industries and demographics in the U.S. and found that values alignment and DEI matter to employees. According to the report, 60 percent of respondents want their personal values to align with the values of their company.

When it comes to talent acquisition, employers should take note of their DEI policies and initiatives.

Seventy percent of respondents are more likely to prefer an employer that supports an inclusive workplace.

“Mission-driven and DEI-centric cultures built around a set of core values are table stakes in today’s modern workforce. Companies that invest resources in promoting an inclusive, mission-inspired workplace will prove most successful in attracting and retaining top talent,” Impactful Search‘s Executive Director Rhonda Taylor said. “In our work, we’re seeing an increased interest among leadership leaning into their company’s ethos and purpose.”
